Worship as public prayer may be described as follows: Public prayer lifts up all creation to the Father through Jesus Christ by the Spirit in praise and thanksgiving for the work of the Son, who has reconciled creatures and creation to God. . . .Worship prays God’s story.
-Robert E. Webber, Ancient-Future Worship: Proclaiming and Enacting God’s Narrative
So a couple interesting points jump out at me here…
First, we amplify, as priests, the praise of creation by giving it voice when we pray and worship.
Second, creation is groaning and waiting for God’s reconciliation, but that has already started and continues through us.
Third, I love the way Webber reminds us here that it is always worship to the Father through the Son by the Holy Spirit. Our God is three-in-one!
