ECC Music Teams 2014-15

We have changed things up with our music team and bands every year since I’ve been here because change is good.  However, as we looked at teams for this year, we felt that there was already enough change happening in our church.

New building.

New staff.

New schedule last year.

So we decided to keep the schedule the same and make minor changes to the teams.  For those of you who served this past year and are continuing, things will look and feel the same.  For our newest team members, here are the basics!

1.  WE WILL HAVE ONE TEAM IN ONE LOCATION FOR EVERY WEEKEND AND REHEARSING BEFORE THE SERVICE.

Like last year, we are asking teams to stay together and serve for 10 months.  This is what we’ve done this past year.  Here are some thoughts…

A.  Serving together builds friendship, teamwork and musicianship.  Serving together allows us to become better and more comfortable at what we do.  We are hoping to see some of you take a larger leadership role up front too.

B.  This maximizes your time and gas money!

C.  WE EXPECT that people in regular rotation will take breaks.  WE ASSUME that you will take at least 4 weeks off throughout the year.  WE ALSO ASSUME that you will let us know and call someone on the alternate list.  We will also schedule different music  on some weeks so that you will also get a break for another 4 weeks or so.

D.  That means that PEOPLE WHO SERVE AS ALTERNATES ARE DESPERATELY NEEDED!!!!  You WILL be called on to serve.  REMEMBER THAT EMAILS AND PHONE NUMBERS ARE AVAILABLE ON PLANNING CENTER.  MAKE SURE THAT YOUR CONTACT INFO IS UP TO DATE!

2.  WE WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH REHEARSAL TOOLS SO THAT YOU CAN BE PREPARED!

A.  The Worship Staff will meet every Tuesday to finalize and rehearse the service.

B.  The lyrics sheet w/ directions for harmony/unison will be uploaded to Planning Center.

C.  We will create a recording with the tracks in the right key and any notes/comments/jokes that might be appropriate.

3.  WE WILL REHEARSE FOR 1 1/2 HOURS BEFORE EACH SERVICE.

A.  Saturday teams will continue to arrive and be ready to go at 4:30 PM for the 6:30 PM service

B.  Sunday teams will start arriving and be ready to go at 7:00 AM for the 9:00 am services.

C.  We will still have a 25 min vocal/band breakouts and then come together for a little over an hour to run the service.

AS ALWAYS, PLEASE  CALL SAM, DAN OR CHRIS IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS.  OUR GOAL IS GIVE GLORY TO GOD AND HELP OTHERS WORSHIP!
